I'm thinking about purchasing a 2008 Cobalt LT with 90k km on it. People say it will be a money pit that will not handle the deep snow and icy conditions in my area. What do you think?

i live in southern mn and drive 80 miles a day and unless it's a bad snowstorm or the roads are really bad i drove my 2007 and my 2010 this year through the winter except for about 2 weeks it handles well
How likely am I to have major repairs in the next few years? I have read this year and model has electrical problems.

I am on my second Cobalt. My 2005 was great...had it for 3 years with no problems. I traded it in for a 2008 and it's been a lemon. Always in the shop for one thing or another, recalled parts...the last being a seizing ignition cylinder and the left front speaker keeps going out, which is where your turn signal beeps and dash board alarms are wired to so I have no sound for those. I'm trading it in next year and will never buy another.
I absolutely love my 08 cobalt. Got good winter tires and have never had any issues. Runs great!
I bought a 2003 Cavalier, new and had little or no problems. I did not undercoat it and the undercarriage eventually became my greatest issue. Since then I purchased Cobalts for myself & used ones for my kids...same deal...no serious mechanical issues even though they may have lots of miles. 2.2 is a great engine.
