When I take off in drive the seems to hang between gears and engine will race. I can
slow down and manually shift into the right gear and it will start shifting properly. This this
does not happen every time I start off from stop.

Thanks for the info took car to transmission shop. It was checked out and turned out to be selenoids.

yea i forgot to erase codes thats why it wasnt working but now it is ..but i have had this problem for a month see if u can help me out same 2002 trailblazer ltz 4wd 4.2 6 inline plugs my check gages light turns off and on wen ever it feels like and wen that happens forces my engine fan blows hard my temp gage goes from 100° to 260° but my car is not overheating every morning wen i turn my blazer on temp gage goes rapidly to 269° even if my engine is still cold i already changed water pump thermostat temp sensor belt and its steel reads code p0117 engine coolant circiut low input i dont know wat to do anymore also wen the check gage comes on it reads engine coolant hot idle engine even if the engine is still cold i could just turn key on and that happens.. driving me crazy already need a good answer and help please and wen the check gages light comes on it doesn't read the five volts is suppose to it reads below 2volts and wen lights off it reads the five volts let me know if i can do something to fix it on my own please and thanks for responding to my questions

wat is hth and thanks for ur answers appropriate it alot ill try that but would it efect if i put a ground wire directly to the black ground wire on the sensor just to see if anything changes and so do u think the pcm modual or computer i guess is the same thing but could it be damaged

ok thanks very much for ur help ill try and run only one ground wire from the sensor to a grounding point and i will definitely not try to power feed to any sensor that could effect my vehicle just one ground i will run thanks again and have a wonderful evening

Hi i have 2006 trailblazer when i put in drive it shifts through first 2 gears and when it goes to 3rd it slips and idles up. I have to put it in 2nd to go hoping i dont need transmission. Any help is appreciated thanks

i have a2002 ltz and it will not shift from 1st to second without letting off the gas. The vehicle speed sensor was changed. Any and all advice is apprecitaed. tyia

I have a 1995 s10 blazer and it would appear that the same problem has been apparent since this blazer if not before, and up and to the current models and I cannot believe they have not corrected this yet!!! , or even at least to all of your helpful comments Up an 'till the 2006 model yr. Like I said above, I have a 1995 s10 4x4 4dr blazer w/212k on it. I was told to put Lucas in the tranny, so that's what I did with NO resolution to the shifting problems!! I only drive it to the grocery store once a month, but I either need a quick short term fix so I can sell it or I need to resurrect it for another 30-50k. Any help would be greatly appreciated !! 2007 Trailblazer Not shifting in to the 3rd gear... (slipping) Lucas mechanic in a bottle did dick. Hope it's an easy fix because I bought am older car to safe money. Shit.

Which is expensive right? ... It actually was most our of fluid yesterday and I dumped in a bottle if Lucas and a quart of transmission fluid. I have driven 10-15 miles since I did that but only Reverse, 1st, 2nd work like it is supposed to. In drive it takes off normal but once you get to 50mph or so rather than shifting down it revs up. It is over full now by the way...

Anthony, your transmission likely blew out it's sun gear housing. This is a common problem on the 4l60E transmissions. If the housing did blow out, you will also not have second gear, resulting in a hard shift from first to third.

I need help with my 01 chevy blazer 4x4 there is a leak in the tranny someware up front and possibly the mid section of the tranny ot at least thats ware the leaks are commin thru on the tranny cover

Dear brother i hope that u can help me to find out the problem in my chevy trail blazer 2008 ,Last year, August 2016 I change the 4W drive case and become little better for a year and recently, I encountered same problem when shifting to 2nd gear looks like there is car hitting from the back. This is after the car was stock on the sand beach and we force the car to move by changing the 2W, 4W up and 4W down switch for half an hour. Then it happens also in 3rd gear but lighter than the hit on 2nd gear. The rpm gauge was playing also from 3 to 4 when we were driving going up off road looks like the gear is having a hard time shifting or not shifting at all. Then, when I rest the car the following day, sounds better but starting to hit again on 2nd gear after staying the car open and long drive approximately 80 kms. It starts shaking when its shifting and after awhile its start to be stronger then to hit/pump again like car hitting from the back. Whenever the car will rest long time it will be okay but when you start to use it for driving the car will start again to be like that. And when I stop the car and go under if you shift between D-R you can hear sound like jangle. god bless u am hisham

Hey Guys I have a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer EXT 4wd LT The trans starts slipping in overdrive about 50 mph mostly going uphill or under load.There are different clutch packs for each set of gears.The most common problem is the pack for 3rd to overdrive will start to slip and then fail.I screwed up by not having my traqns serviced every 50,000 mi.,so I would start by taking yours to a good trans shop for a filter and fluid flush and refill with good ATF. I shifted my blazed into park,, the shifter moved to the park position on the dash,, but the l blazer stayed in drive,, is this a linkage issue?

Hi I have a 2002 LT it started slipping at about 45 to 50 so I changed the fluid. So now when I take off it will change 1 to 2 will not go into 3 just slipping what can it be? I thanks

Go buy the solinoids. DIY job if you have a few tools. A bit messy unless you get creative with draining and wiping down so it doesn't drip on your face. 1 trans oil pan gasket, 1 filter, 2 shift solinoids (interchangable), 1 downshift solinoid. There are ways to test them. Super easy, but by the time you yank the transmission pan off you should just replace them. They're about 25 bucks a piece. They can be cleaned if they're working but just replace them. After spending 60 bucks on transmission oil and Gasket it's not worth doing it twice. Hope this helps everybody. I did a lot of research and all I did was replace the solenoids. If your not grinding or leaking it's the solinoids. If it's leaking, fill it up with transmission fluid. If it starts working your solenoids are fine you probably just need a transmission pan gasket. You only need to replace the downshift solenoid when it's downshifting rough or at the wrong time. Upshift hesitation or slipping is normally the two shift solenoids (1-2 & 3-4). Saved me in replacing a $1,500 transmission. The transmission oil is about five to seven quarts unless you were doing a full transmission flush. That's about 11 quarts stop. See pic of shift solinoid.

Depending on the milage,you could take it to a good transmission shop for a flush and service. Over 140000 miles probably need a rebuild for around 2500 dlrs

I have a 2005 trailblazer and it goes in to 1 and 2 and reverse but want go into drive or over drive replaced all 4 solenoids and replaced some shift thing everything that could be replaced I replaced still won't go into drive or over drive really get pissed ready to throw gas on it and watch it burn had it for at least 3 months still haven't even drove it yet I got alot tie up in this can someone please tell me what it could possibly be woman in need here help

I have a 2005 trail blazer 4.2 4x4 with 166000 miles on it. i drove it for about 20 mins and stop put it in reverse and it didn't work i try 1,2 and 3 and nothing it wouldn't move in any gear. i shut it off and restarted the vehicle and everything was normal except a ticking noise coming from the tranny. it never trough any codes.. any help would be appreciate.

Hi there I have similar issues but I think sum1 unplugged something to my tranny. Why so? Bc my skid plate as guys call it was dangling loose when was tightened alrdy after leaving it at my sisters while I went with her 4 an ride. No probs shown or anything except I shifted few dffrnt times rpm hand went up to 3 n 4 bk 2 normal at 1.5 to 2rpms. But no noises and the tranny shifted fine 0 hesitation so wen rpm hand raised it didn't rev out or act dffrntly 2 indicate any prob with it. Well so it shifted fine every time except that small flaw which It didn't act like it were slipping when it had done such. 2003 Chevrolet trailblazer LTZ 4.2L 6 cylinder 4 wheel drive , automatic transmission. Friday after getting bk i needed be boosted bc my dog was put into SUV and he hit 4ways on. I got bk notices I needed an boost on Friday. Howeva sum1 was in my auto as I know my dog unlocks my doors so I know sum1 went in2 my auto bc 4way flashers button was not pushed still down sum1 had got in there turned them off. What happened on drive home Friday night? Rpm hand did 3 to 4 rpms no sounds no trouble shifting at all. Saturday? Went to the store prob with rpm hand once again reached 4 rpms. But no gear hesitation when needed 2 shift. Headed out again on Saturday & damn thing shifted 1 time then heard whining rite out as if I were in wrong shifters gear sumthin as if an automatic gets shifted in2 dffrnt gear when ur driving down the rd like say 1st gear which trys slow u down exactly how it sounded and it kept me being on flat at very low speed 10 or 15 maybe 20mph. I had use 4ways 2 turn arnd and go park it. Sunday/yesterday? Bf said he needed see wat hppns so went for test drive up our rds hill instd of heading first onto flat ground. The suv got up to 35mph easily without that whine noise my dad says bc I was going up hill that the fluid pushed 2 the bk of the trans pump and it helped the 1st shifting gear in Drive to act more properly. Work more accurately . So then got coming down hill and it shifted 1 time revved up to 4rpms again like it did on Saturday but acted like it was having bit trouble 2 shift 2nd time but I swear on top of hill it shifted into the 2nd gear which it wasnt able to do on Saturday with hesitation however. Problem? Every other shifters and dash gears that show letters & numbers shifter goes into no sounds no smells no probs put it into D and only now shifts 1 time. I did try shift into 2nd and 3rd gear on my shifter gears aka P down goes to number 3 so I shifted to 2 and seemed to move but I think it may had bit hesitation however idk bc idk how fast shifting into 2nd gear is suppsd go for mph or when 2nd is supposed to be shifted into like what it's for either like towing or climbing hills or what as Idk what 3rd is for neitha but 1st gear is fine shift into i know to slow down especially if ppl lose brakes or need slow down fast it holds u bk. Okay so not knowing what 2nd or 3rd gear on shifter column is for or how fast can go in those gears I cant say if they work right or if they also are having issues. However I could go frwrds in 2nd and 3rd gear when I shifted into them it just felt like those gears were nothing like drive as to where felt like they held me bk from picking up to much speed of course I shifted into those gears on side of the small humped bank so ground was not really level so may has something do with why those gears seemed to hold me back like first gear would and does. So my issue is I need to know what's under an skid plate which sum1 loosened on me? I'm sure it has an dffrnt name of such part idk tho I'm just going by wat a country guy called it. It is metal or hard plastic cover type thingy has 2 bolts that I saw to hold it on. Location is under the auto of course not under the hood but idk if it's under my tranny. Okay next I need know what an asshole cld of unplugged from dropping my skid plate? Told tranny filter sum ppl say screen can be clogged n wld cause tranny not want to shift since fluid is full but has light brown dirt tinted in it and does not have any burn or bad smells to it. B4 that hppnd I started having probs with my heater blower only kicking on when it wanted to arnd heat not wanting to blow but now cant feel heat only hear sound of blower put hand to vent feel no more warmth and no fan blowing so no air or wind neither and bf claims he smells antifreeze inside n outside both of SUV I only smelled it on outside under the hood he says means I need an heater core. If solenoid is un plugged would it cause tranny to not shift or if sum1 did something to it? Trans pan is it small whereas it located? Might be the pan that sum1 had loosened is why I ask besides need figr out where solenoids location is so if they need chngn? How hard are solenoids to get to its nof having to tear apart the tranny to get to them right? Like I've read about tranny rebuilding but my transmission shown no signs of being gone I've lkd tons up the symptoms dont match as tranny needing replacement. No smells or noises just when go to shift 2nd time while in drive whines and revs up. However I'm told if gna chng solenoids might as well do them all so atlst its confirmed that tranny has all new onto it. Above some1 chngd solenoids no luck hppnd so what would cause such 2 hppn where solenoids not fixes the prob I'm guessing means no fix bc gears or gear bands aten up got so bad so now tranny in his had no hope left. My fluid is full.

How do u reset computer after doing screen and fluid change or also after changing shift solenoid? Also my tranny I recall I was in reverse and backup over a steep hill driveways start of the driveway so I get off driveway steep hill into the rd which also is the flat end of the rd hill put it in drive and I got kicked forwards and then sent bk agnst my seat drove down rd shifted 1 time since then cant shift into 3rd n if it does its definently not going into 4th anyways so its revs out idk if its hanging in between shifting down or shifting higher for 4th gear but it's getting stuck in something. I will get 2nd shift at times but when goes 2 shift again or shift down revs out also revs after I shift 1 time b4 i force it 2 shift second time even been scamned with labor say sensors camshaft n throttle body or maf sensors chngd wld fix issue didn't pd labor no fix 2 shifting. Since camshaft sensor was chngd now chk engine light is on reading sumthin about its circuit so I think idiot guy touched sensor to make it go bad plugged it on in knew he ruined it try make more labor 4 change it again I'm thinking hes thinking wld get him another job by me wanting it chngd again but since he placed dffrnt camshaft sensor on 2003 Chevrolet trailblazer ltz 4.2L literally I hear a slapping noise I swear now is in my motor or tranny idk i assume motor. How did guy get sensors read 2 say they bad with 0 chk engine light on? He plugged sum tool scanner in my obd reader area and said I had malfunctioned camshaft and throttle body sensors. Then they were In yellow not red but bc i said I wld have 2 wait to order online throttle body hes in rush do wrk get pd so told no dont order it instead buy an maf sensor bc throttle body sensor malfunctioned cld mean is a sensor near throttle body. I said maf sensor is near the camshaft sensor if lkn at which sensor the maf is close to being for location well he said instd of throttle body price of paying buy an maf sensor instead saves $$ . I go parts store 85 bucks I said scanner not said about maf sensor so y throw 85 bucks onto sumthin that isn't located anyways near 2 throttle body sensor which his scanner tool had mentioned about when seems if was an maf sensor the scanner would say so or say dffrnt sensor closer 2 the maf sensor. so ok he gets mad at me saying dont chng maf the tranny still won't shift its all of my fault bc I bought maf cleaning spray instd and he sprayed maf sensor put it bk on wet so I said that supposed 2 dry first right he said no harm for it 2 be wet plus he was in hurry to make top bucks for 10 min job it took spray maf sensor put it bk on chng camshaft sensor. Told me was 2hrs job there was 10 mins and he rushed the job didn't chk see it his wrk made suv shift said be bk not day bc battery he said shit 2 bed on me so I had get dffrnt battery but it wrkd if boosted well instd of boosting the battery n chn his work he took off wanting be pd zoomed out of my yard said be bk following day 2 hookup battery bc deal was battery hookup also n then try suv out. Next day came no show wanted another job due with my heat b4 he shown up I said u alrdy got pd come finish the job o no I was pd just chng 2 sensors I said right but I didn't have both sensors so u said make payment which was steep 4 10 min job instd be for camshaft sensor chng n battery hookup. He went camping 2 my bf that I had him doing battery wen he didn't get pd 4 battery n my bf says 2 him 70 bucks for 10 mins n ur gna say altho u didnt chk ur wrk b4 u left my gal ripped u off r u dam nuts!!!! So now camshaft sensor circuit is reading bc I now got chk engine light on and tranny still not shifting. During diagnostics he wntd 30 bucks hookup scanner chk stuff out he said well ok gets here only hours scanner gets 2 codes tells me battery is gtg after he boosted it n it turned right over then lied said knock in bottom of my motor 4 me 2 listen I listened told him 0 sounds in my motor he shuts up bc I caught him lying 2 me but now since he wrkd on my suv bingo a slap noise in my motor I believe it's coming from now but 0 noise b4 he lied about an sound in motor n now he wrkd on it there's a noise like slapping or tapping. I'm hoping camshaft sensor cld made such noise since obd says it's not functioning properly. So 30 bucks was suppsd chk all out ok then said he was gna ok wt y I got 0 heat wrkn and vibration in my psngr tire also said wld clean throttle body instd of me buying a new 1 bc 257 at advance auto alright no heat chk no tire parts chk see if it is wheel bearing and no throttle body cleaning nor no other 2nd sensor been chngd just sprayed maf put it bk on. Thn ask 4 ride frm his gal n him n her come got me 2 go 31 miles bc stormed earlier he says bk ice on rd risking them n myself injuries plus risk 4 his truck 2 smash no full chrg so it it hit stuff or wateva needed also wear n tear I figrd ok bc if rd had blk ice on them but no blk ice tiny amt of slush was suppsd get 50 bucks wen only took 10 in gas so I handed 60 said I need chng I was gna buy cigs with the 10 they come bk out hand me nothing but thn 2 nights later he did sensor cleaning sensor put in battery hookup 10 mins he was quick said 60 labor 10 gas well he stole 10 bucks frm me 2 nights b4 then so I fogr I owe 60 bucks then well bc he said he wld be bk next day I felt bad gave the otha 10 no show next day n wen I handed him 70 altho owed 60 he had pissy look on his face found out y altho he said that amt was bc he frkn put battery terminals on2 a battery 4 me n volunteered take the new battery frm my broken down car 2 put in suv alright then his gal says night in between me goin drs n him doing sensors n battery swaps that they found my heat parts n throttle body 4 me I said he told me hes cleaning throttle body bc of its cost y do I need throttle body now and he never lkd at my heat parts so how does he know 4 what I need 2 buy so they say 100 bucks I ask where is for 100 they told me junk yard name I call junk yard they say they told gal earlier 0 parts 4 an 03 trailblazer the guy n his gf must thought I wld have thm go pickup parts that the junk yard didnt even have. He pushy says not wait 4 chor parts online 2 arrive n says b4 I got $$ get it bc he was coming b4 I had the $$. Then night of doing maf cleaning and camshaft chng he shown up at my house after i said i will let him know wen i get home i had crap 2 do cold night I had bundle warm b4 he wrkd on suv so I cld watch I said wait till tmrw it's late now n I have unload stuff I needed buy like food n stuff wats he do show up in my yard like he had be there b4 I said ok n 2 see wtf I bought like how much stuff was my assumption. So thn he wnts 75 chng an blower heater hookup another battery n heater resistor hookup I said no battery I pd u 4 alrdy 2 hkup n gas come out next day I'm not paying 4 bs I alrdy pd 4 n he didnt finish job 4 thn I said how much 4 just resistor bc blower is good my bf had get it out bc blower stayed running didnt want drain my new battery so guy flips sayin my bf did his job I said no he didn't n I ducking own my suv I'm boss not him n he tk my vin on his scanner when I said no dont 0 reason 2 push enter 2 get my autos info also he had nerves tell me go take pics of new blower motor n resistor 2 prove 2 him my bf didnt change them I said hold up u dont own me ur not my boss that's disrespect call me an liar plus I dont got 75 2 give for another 10 min job I'm only chrgd u half a garage wld chrg u he says I said bs 10 min job tops 55 bucks at garage or 75 so like 35 more thn fair o no. So pls help me figr this shift prob out as u can tell I'm being scammed n getting nowhere I need know wat exactly I need 2 chng it freaking shifts 1 time in drive force it shift 2nd time but revs as if its stuck while trying 2 shift down or shift up into 4th gear more like stuck in 3rd bc seems soon as I make it take 3rd instantly dont want 2 do as normal where wld be able pickup speed instd like holds me bk frm upping speed and I know it must shift down once in gear in order 2 climb rpms to shift into higher gear right? If I am correct then its being stuck in down shifting bc its shifts thn rpm hand immediately goes after the shift up to 3 or 4 rpms. Or shifts at higher rpms at 6 ya went to 6 rpms wen hand went bk to go down it frkn revs n whines out like stuck in 3rd gear where cant downshift after it had shifted into 3rd. Or Isnt holding 3rd gear instead is kicking out of 3rd gear right after its forced 2 shift into 3rd. Idk which.

I am truly not trying to be disrespectful, but Dear God Lady, your 2 "Questions", back to back, are confusing to say the least, Reading, trying to translate and trying to understand what the actual questions are? I'm sorry, but when posting a question, can you please try to keep it short, simple and to the point? I would also recommend actually reading through all of the questions and answers first, you may find the questions you want to ask, have already been asked and answered by someone else?

I have a 2008 trailblazer got 1 2 but when it goes to 3and drive got nothing put the gas to it it works any answers

DEAR GOD PLEASE HELP!!!!! I have the same problem as most others here, but that’s not what I need god to help me with. I’m pulling my hair out, trying to read this thread. When did 7 year olds start driving? I swear my nephew is 7 and he can type better than half of the people who posted here. If it’s that hard, just post pictures or videos. I’m not going to try and piece together some illiterate jiberish to get answers, nor to give them. UPDATE!!!!! Everyone who has no 3rd or 4th gear, there is a 90% probability that your 3-4 clutch pack is gone. It’s that or the sun shell gear. You ran too low on fluid, or let your fluid get too dirty, or have an internal leak. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the bottom line is you need to take your transmission out and service it. The 4L60E is notorious for weak 3-4 clutches, and pre 03’ models will have problems with the sun shell gear.

Have a 2003 chevy trailblazer lt and the transmission goes into reverse ok bit when in drive high rpms and have to shift from 2nd to 3rd and than into drive but dont feel it go into 4th and shift from 2nd to first no shift replaced the two silinoids. But what makes things a question is that once and a while it runs fine but here and there runs ok but after that goes back to old way
