Fuel savings

Asked by GuruB363V Jan 26, 2019 at 04:40 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer 2LT 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

Well guys I am looking to have a manually switch
option on my 2008 envoy's V8 engine runs on the
V6 or even on the V4 mode and not jump to the V8
unless I switch to.
Is that possible, I am suffering from the fuel cost
and I don't wanna dumped my favourite car.

If this is possible it would take a custom tuner to control this feature.

I was curious so I did a search. You can disable this feature but I cannot find anyway to manually control it. Most people hate it and want 8 cylinders all the time.

Thanks guys for your reply, let us make it sample. When I say manually control means I can activate and deactivate no matter what is needed to do. Maybe keep it running as V4 all the time by doing a custom action and if I want it back to a V8 reverse that action. And the question is is this applicable and will not damage the engine and how much fuel cost will save.

The computer is going to give you the optimum fuel economy. The reason the engine switches to 6 or 8 cylinders is you need the power, Running with 4 cylinders up a hill would not work. If you need fuel economy, slow down, air up the tires and keep it tuned up.

Dear F-O-R Most of the time I do not want the power, city crusing with all the crowded roads the only two pistons power will be more than enough. Please if you think my request is technically applicable help me.
