Sometimes when modules or computers go bad they go coo coo and throw all sorts of codes and can send you on a wild goose chase. Often times the solder joints in the computer modules become brittle or were cold solder joints in the first place and just become worse over time. Not that it's related but didn't those cars have major issues with a electronic style steering columns? Anyway hope the new module does the trick. Good Luck!
