why does my ford edge have a gas smell?

I HOPE it's a residual odder and it goes away quickly. How long ago was the repair made?

90% of the time when you smell the gas,and see no leak,s,,and had some one work on it recently,that had to drop tank and remove fuel pump to do the repair,it will be that they did not seal the ring,where the fuel pimp lock,s in,gas will lay on top of tank,and you want see it on ground,but ,,you will smell it,,

The repair was completed approximately 2 weeks ago. It constantly smells. This morning when the garage door was opened you could smell the odor.

T_S_T - Ok I will mention this to the mechanic where the repair was made and see what they have to say and then what they want to do with it.

Well as this turns out there was a recall for a leaky gas tank. It is in the seam of the tank and once the tank was dropped it has a hole in the top I wanted to be sure to reply back so that if anyone has the same issue to please file a complaint Highway Safety website so that they can track it they may get a recall also. I am not sure if they recalled all 2008 Ford Edges for this issue or just the ones that complained. They came and picked up my car and will have it until 3rd quarter of 2015 due to no gas tanks available.

Hey there I have a ford edge have taken it to the ford dealer when they had that recall but I am still smelling the gas smell. Just wantedto see how your car is doing ?

2008 Ford Edge. Replaced gas tank as part of recall approximately 3 years ago. In the last month had a gas leak on driveway after a top up fill. Inspected fill neck, no corrosion. Did partial fills. No leak. Did top up fill again today, gas smell and drips on driveway. Looking into gas line leak.

I have a 2008 also just bought . having the same problem.did you ever find a solution
