Propane smell intermittently in 2014 Ford Edge

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I am having a propane smell in the cabin. It happens from time to time, in all Seasons for nearly a year. It doesn't seem to be A/C or heater related, just will smell all of a sudden.

If you don't have a propane powered car then where do you think the smell comes from?

Is it possible that the previous owner used propane as a refrigerant for the A/C system and there is a small leak?
Did you ever figure out what was causing that propane smell? I have 2011 I notice the smell every time I get into the car.
Try changing the interior cabin filter. Cheap fix first, $7 to $20 bucks.
