Coolant

Asked by Travis May 19, 2017 at 09:33 PM about the 2008 Saturn Astra XE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello. I recently had my alternator on my 2008
saturn astra replaced and since then my car has
been running really rough.
Therefore my coolant ran out n I broke down.
My guess is the shop messed with my coolant
connections to get to my alternator.
Could this be the result of that?
Appreciate the help.

My car only lasted about 5 days after the alternator replacement. And as soon as I got home after the alternator, my car started smoking. I look under the hood and my oil cap was barely hanging off and had a mess all over and my coolant was terribly low right after I left the shop. I don't know why they would mess with my fluids. Over the few days after that I kept having to fill my coolant, my fan was always on and the car was running rough, like a vibrating and shaking sound then finally broke. I was wondering if you had to move the hoses to get to my alternator?
