Knock Sensor should it be replace ASAP?

I purchasd a 2008 CRV EX on Thurs and the following Thurs. the engine light
came on.  Took it to the mechanic and he said it was a Knock Sensor circuit
malfunction.  Could sparks plugs have anything to do with it?  Car has
$193,000 miles on it. To replace the sensor cost is $250-$300.  It's a nice car
and new to me so I don't like driving car with engine light on.

Hi The sensor price ranges from $15 (at PartsGeek) to $150 (at AdvanceAuto) . I dont think its $250, maybe its genuine part or something...still doesnt sound rit.
