Changed brakes on 2008 Jaguar XK and now it will not start. What are the steps to start car again? More: Lights and electric things come on but door doesn't lock and doesn't start?

I'd make sure that the battery is newer then 10....then check the voltage...charge it if is not 12.5 volts~ sounds to me like the negative cable needs a wirebrush to establish a hearty 50 amp connection~ and make sure the cables are still good~ ...and don't forget the cable that goes to the engine block~

I have owned the same model of car for almost 2 years. This car has smart technology to protect it. So if you are having starting problems and locking of door problems you should take it to a mechanic that can diagnose the sensors and computer. It pays to have jaguar certified mechanics work on your car. I just had problems starting and my car needed an unexpected tine up and spark plugs. These cars lock up to protect the integrity of the car. They will not properly unless everything passes tge internal self tests. I hope that helps. It cost me sbout $1000 inTx. So you may need to take it somewhere.
