YES YES and YES. VW posts on the gas cap 95 octane recommended. Your engine can take regular without destroying it, but you will loose performance and possible wear out parts faster.

You dont have to use super, regular works just fine and will not wear out the engine.

Use of regular fuel is acceptable in an emergency in any forced induction vehicle. Using lower octane fuel causes early detonation in the engine, reducing hp, reducing gas mileage, and may cause premature failure of the engine with prolonged use of low octane fuel. There is a reason it says premium only.

Premium gasoline is highly recommended. Yes the engine will run on mid or regular octane, but with lower octane fuel, the engine computer dials down the power, and you may also notice a slight decrease in fuel economy.

Ok i studied mechanic how is gas gone wear out the engine faster? by dropping the octane ahhaha Silly rabbit . The fuel has ethanol in it to clean the fuel injectors. Should get same gas mileage only difference your gone see ore should see if not gone as fast on the take off. Only way the wear the engine out faster is not cleaning your air filter and changing your oil ever 6k . People are suckers to believe this bullshit all cars ALL cars will run on 87 octane. There after market chips to burn more gas for faster take off same there new chips to save to get better gas millage . These car handle great but lack balls after 3rd gear because turbo drop off. There fun cars but allot issues like bad mas air flow sensors in 2003 and all vw had plastic window holders in the doors that broke. I hope they fixed there issues on later models
