Dodge Charger 08 WON'T START, lights and dash lights all come on but won't turn over. NO PREVIOUS DELAY STARTING CAR

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
So my 08 Dodge Charger recently died right in the middle of the road. At first we checked for an error code and it was P0562 but that was no longer the issue after looking this up on the internet I am being told there could be numerous things wrong. 1 could be the starter relay is messing up and I need to order a new relay, the other could be the WIN is not reading my keys and letting the start the vehicle, and a part may be broken, and finally I am being told that my grounding could be a slipped up issue as well. I cannot get the vehicle to the dealership with it being completely unable to start. I'm wondering if any one has actually heard of these issues and knows what I can do to try and fix it or even temp fix it long enough to get it to a mechanic?
The day before it started just fine, it did make a weird clicking noise when accelerating, but it still drove. The car died yesterday when I decided to accelerate up a slight hill. I then lost power steering, and could not use the gas pedal. I've been looking this stuff up for the last little while, and cannot figure out the honest true problem, some people are even saying it's the WIN system :/ I have no idea what's going on here :(

If you are in a location where you can get to the engine bay with no problem, then start by checking the obvious. 1. Is the serpentine belt at proper tension? 2. Can you remove the battery and have it checked at NAPA, O'Reilly's, etc. for charge and continuity? 3. I looked up the code on the net and located the following, hope it helps: 2008 Dodge Charger Code PO562 P0562 Dodge - System Under Voltage What does this mean? PDF Share Code Possible causes - Low battery charge - Battery defective - Loose or missing alternator drive belt - Faulty alternator - Open or short system voltage circuit What does this mean? Tech notes Start by recharging or replacing the battery. When is the code detected? System voltage falls below 8.5 volts with the engine RPM greater than 2000 RPM for 60 seconds Possible symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Slow engine start - Low battery power P0562 Dodge Description The battery supplies electricity to the Engine Control Module (ECM) even when the ignition switch is OFF. This electricity allows the ECM to store data such as Detected Trouble Code (DTC) history, freeze frame data, fuel trim values and other data. If the battery voltage falls below a minimum level, the ECM will conclude that there is a fault in the power supply circuit. The next time the engine starts, the ECM will turn on the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) and a DTC will be set. Read more: http://engine-codes.com/p0562_dodge.html#ixzz3dtDym9Go
Mine did the same exact thing. P0562 code and all. Cant get it started. Turns over but doesnt fire.
Mine just did it 5 min ago and now i am stuck in the middle of the road, Smh
My problem was 2 fold. Bad battery and 2 bad fuel pumps. Enough juice to turn but not fire. Wouldnt matter any cause there was no fuel. Lol. I have a question for you Guru. Did it sputter to a stop or shut off completely?
Change fuel pump twice still want start why
I have a 2010 Dodge Charger and mine did the same thing. It just cut off right in the middle of the road. My problem was that I had gotten a new set of keys program and I was trying to use the old key which hadn't been programmed. So the anti-theft system was shutting down the car.
Mine did it and it wont say nothing it just clicks when trying to start idk I'm at al loss for words because there was no existing problems shown
It sounds like mine. It turns on fine. Put I hear a clicking noise and I can’t push my brake pedal down and there’s also that red lighting bolt on my dash board. If you have that also it’s your throttle system.
I have the same problem any answers

If you don’t have a 2018 and better Dodge Charger car , you will have all kinds of issues just had to resell my Dodge Charger 2012 transmission and engine problems always on top of a bunch of other things if yu don’t get maintenance done frequently..Dodge Charger are luxuries cars not everyday driving cars...
I have an 08 which has a blown head which blew by itself I didn't drive fast at all in my car. I had the same issues with my starter which I replaced & it worked for a few weeks. My starter kept burning out & caused a foul smell to come from under the hood it happened with both starters. I cut off in the road a few times also because my car kept overheating.
Help my 2008 charger only started with boost? It’s not the battery
Ok, I’m back. I have the V6, 3.5L motor. Scroll up, Names “Chris”. My fuel gauge still sometimes fluctuates to this day. On longer runs, Orlando to NYC, the gauge works mostly, normal. But... stop and start driving daily sends my fuel needle into the Quantum Realm. One second the fuel tank reads 3/4 full, the next 1/4 tank left... could just be s broken dummy gauge. The fuel pump was replaced... supposedly. That’s what the “Stealership” told me. I’m about to tackle this on YouTube under the name BigLockDaddy if you want to see what I’m going thru. Top 3 guesses at this point. 1. Computer error. The Economy system reads the cars data and makes changes on the fly, wondering if this may be malfunctioning? 2. Stealerships replacement pump is faulty too. They changed the battery at the same time. Low battery alone could cause this prob, but the battery WAS new. 3. Bad fuel gauge bobber or system. Those are my guesses and I’d rather teach myself auto mechanics than take it back to the Stealership. Also, look into PCM updates for the transmissions and ECU. Hope it helps. Good luck my peeps!
08 dodge charger lights don't flash in the rear when key phob is engaged, work before I changed the battery and the alt! but every thing else works great, what could be keeping it from flashing?

Soooo... 6 mos later I finally have an answer! My problem was the fuel gauge in the dashboard instrument cluster. When the tank goes dry, it just shuts off. Duh! Every time it dies (3x in 6 mos) I put fuel in and it starts right back up. The reason for not changing the cluster is simple. It costs about $350 then you have to have someone program the mileage into it. $$$. So I’m taking a different route. Gonna save up for a fancy scan tool. One that can read AND write to the PCM. I can use it for other things as well, like changing rim sizes and tuning this or any other Charger I buy. In the last 6 mos I’ve replaced the alternator, custom built a dual exhaust, added a CAI then went back to the stock box & recently put 18” rims from a 2014 Charger on. 2 upcoming projects include adding a ported throttle body & doing a timing belt/water pump change. Again you can find all my stuff on YT under BigLockDaddys Garage! Hope it helps. GL!!!
Ok so I'm a mobile mechanic and came across this same issue and come to find out it was the main grounds to the we found this out by test voltage at the battery and then at the post under the hood. Voltage at the battery was good but at the post was only 3 volts so after I made new spots for grounds car had no issues starting anymore solve the problem

Hopefully someone still comes across this thread. I have a 2010 srt charger. It drove fine yesterday, suddenly today I assumed my key fob died so I replaced the battery and still couldn't unlock my car, using the actual key I got in and then realized the car was dead. When trying to boost it with a battery pack, it gives power but not enough to kick over. It instead jumps on and off very quickly, as if its trying to start but its almost like its in a theft mode. The key fob gets stuck in the ignition and the brakes won't engage. If I disconnect and reconnect the boost pack, I can get the key out. Then trying to boost from another vehicle, the car gets no power at all. Please help!!

About a year ago, I had a similar problem. Battery drain, due to a bad alternator. Changed the Alt & charged the battery, all better! If you can take the car to AutoZone and have the check your Alt.
