Chrysler 300 Hemi C Jerking violently.

Asked by XSCALLEWAGSx Nov 17, 2014 at 02:53 PM about the 2008 Chrysler 300 C RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It's started making a unusual sound
today as I was driving. Then when I
reached 40 mph the whole car
started jerking violently and wouldn't
let me exceed over 40. What's the
problem?

Either water in the gas or a clog in the fuel lines. The fuel pump itself is another possibility. If it turns out to be the fuel itself, it's condensation or the gas has been left in the tank a long time. Get a reputable shop to run a diagnostic on the car, check the codes. With the use of 10% Ethanol, there are issues with that as well.

Don't ever use gas that has corn in it it ruins the line pump and anythinelse and also your muilage will suffer, I know that tree hugers are going to give me H#l* but i have worked on some and believe me thats what happens, and mightymini is probably right, and it could be the fuel sensor. Just a thought
