Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2008 Honda Civic had A/C compressor and other A/C related items replaced at 107,000 miles, problems started around 80,000 miles. I'm at 167,000 miles now and the A/C clutch cycles on and off very quickly when it's really hot outside and I'm stopped or parked. A/C works great while the engine RPMS are above idling. Also, if I rev the engine up some and hold the RPMS up and let the A/C clutch engage for a little while then let go of the gas slowly the A/C clutch will stay engaged. Anyone have any solutions? This is similar to what it started doing the 1st time I started having issues before I spent $1,200 on repairs a few years ago.

We are having the same issue. Dealer and mechanic say get new compressor and oh btw 1750 +tax (dealer) and mechanic wants 1600 (tax included). It works fine, then when it gets hot out, clutch won’t engage. Funny however when it wasn’t working, I decided to gun it (gas pedal to medal) and switch on a/c at same time and walla it worked. All pressures came back perfect at dealer and mechanic. What gives?
