Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had a mechanic look at my car and he told me I
needed to buy my ignition switch box and then
pay to get it programmed too is this true?

Yes, but I would take the vehicle to a shop that will do the ignition switch replacement and programming right there. Otherwise once you replace the ignition switch you're going to have to get the vehicle towed somewhere else to do the programming. Hope that helps! Jim
