I'm hearing rocker-arm but I read one of your previous entry with pretty much the same symptoms as my sons Jeep. Engine starts but you put it in gear it stalls. The engine does shake side to side pretty good when it turns over and starts. You think Sea foam would help?
I don't mean I hear rocking arm I meant I was told that it might be .
A compression test should help with the diagnosis. Seafoam? You never know.
If the valves are stuck in the valve guides then the valve stems are bent. They should slide freely in the valve guides. Bent valve stems indicate the valves have collided with the tops of the pistons,(timing chain issues) or your engine ingested water or some type of liquid into the cylinder while running. Example: trying to splash through some deep water and your motor sucks some water into the intake.
