Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2008 Ford F-150 XLT auto transmission on cold start will act like it is in neutral
when I put it in drive. It will go forward when you put it in 2nd and drive for a
while and slip it into drive. After warming up you can start vehicle and it will
engage in drive. All other gears seem fine.

Did you ever bother to have the tranny fluid & filter changed ?? Everybody changes the engine oil but duh why bother to service the tranny cause you can always push it around !!

the answer is YES . This past summer I did service the transmission and changed the fluid.
