It sounds like your transmission is slipping. Have you checked the fluid level?

Yes Fluid level is fine it shifts fine if im gain Ing speed slowly but when I need to step on it or gain speed real quick then it gets to about 3000 rpm and won't go above 65. Would that still indicate slipping?

It doesn't sound like clutch slipping, if that was the case the rpms would skyrocket while your speed stayed the same. It sounds to me like your vehicle is in limp mode. If that was the case it would be throwing some sort of codes for sure and I'm guessing you would have a warning light.

My check engine light came on before I had that issue I was told at the time it was my catalytic converter had gone bad so I got rid of the cats. Should I have a scan run specifically for the trans?

I'm guessing removing the cats put you into limp mode. I have the same setup on my Audi but the tune I have codes out the O2 sensors so that the car doesn't do that/throw a code. If you clear the codes you might be able to drive it for a bit before it goes back into limp. If that's the case you'll know what's wrong. Im a self taught Audi guy so take all of this with that in mind. I know on Audis if you don't want to code out the O2 sensors you can throw a spacer in the downstream one so that it reads lower CO2 and thinks the cat is working. Not sure about your truck though sorry.

Just bought a 2019 Chevy Silverado two days ago, the first day, one my way home from the dealer while doing 40 miles, the truck dip like when you shift gear fro third to second and the rpm when up to 5000 and them back to normal. The next day, while waiting for the light to change, the rpm went up and a surge came, lucky I had my food on the brakes,?if not I probably ran into the car in front of me. Well, I had the car only two days, is in then dealer’s shop for troubleshooting. When I explained what it was doing they gave the look like I was making things up. They drove it the next day and told that they cannot find anything wrong with it. I told them that they need to take it on the open freeway and not around the dealer parking lot. It sure enough, they took it on the open road and it happened to them, then they took the service manager and it happened again, them they took the dealer manager and it happened again.?after those test drives, they told they need to keep it so they can do some troubleshooting and it will Take few days. Now I am here without a truck...drive it only 19 miles
