Code P2043: Reductant Temperature Sensor Circuit Range/Performance. This code indicates that the power train control module has detected a malfunction with the reductant injector air pressure/temperature sensor. This sensor is used to reduce gases or emissions that come from the exhaust.
You are welcome. Hope you can solve the problem.....without spending too much $$!
This part costs around $200.00, but you have to add labor. I contacted a friend that works for the local Ford dealer and they charge $650.00 to $800.00, depending on the model, this includes parts and labor. So you have to figure that Nissan prices are about the same. An independent shop may be a bit lower. If you go to one, remember to request a written estimate first and a WRITTEN warranty after the job is done.
Good Morning, So I went down to the mechanic this morning. He told me I need to replace my Catalytic Converter $800.00 charge. Is this diagnoses correct? P2043 Code for my Nissan Altima 2008
****UPDATE******* Called Nissan Service. Was told there was a recall for Improperly Calibrated Engine Module for vehicles with grater than 50,000 miles the manifold catalyst will also be replaced due to possible prolonged exposure to higher than anticipated exhaust gas temperatures . Thought this would help other readers
Great! Take the car to the Nissan dealer and let them replace the parts under the recall warranty.
Im back. Damage has been taken care of. Another issue came up. Dealer said my oil pan is deteriorating and needs to be replaced. Why wouldn't my mechanic pick that up? They do my oil change every 2500 miles?
