Powertrain issue or lower control arm failure?

Asked by GuruXCX5C Oct 22, 2018 at 12:12 PM about the 2009 Nissan Murano S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi. Now I'm experiencing a steering issue with pulling in accelerating. the
symptom is like 'Torque steering' maybe it could be. but some mechanics
said the both lower control arms are gone bad which move the wheel back
and forth so it should be ok with replacing them. Well I would likely to have
them replaced if the issue was the control arms but I don't want to put over
1K if it could be the powertrain. anyone who experienced with this similar
issue? Nissan delivers CVT.

I would replace the control arms and see if that solves the problem. Shop around if that price is too high for you. If the control arms are bad you need to replace them regardless of the steering issue.

Thank you F_O_R. I'd prefer not to spend a lot if my powertrain has a chance of this kind of this failure. Nissan cvt is not repairable. only replaceable which cost 5K easy. I just wanted to know if there are peoples who have had this issue with their powertrain. I'd love to keep it but definitely I would rather have a new one. but regardless thank you for sharing your thoughts. much appreciated.
