2009 Nissan murano lose of power

Asked by 09murano Jun 08, 2019 at 12:37 AM about the 2009 Nissan Murano SL AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2009 Nissan Murano- wouldn't start right away. Then
battery ticking noise. Got a new battery. Same thing started
to happen again. Auto ship said alternator needed to be
replaced. 6 months later. Car wouldn't move when gas is
pressed. Took back to shop. They say battery is bad.
Replaced battery again. Car wouldn't move after pressing
the gas again. Put car in park with parking break and the
engine roars! When I put it in low gear or drive it won't
move! Turned Car off for a few minutes then restarted it
and got it in the driveway. What's causing it to not work?

Those I think have CVT transmissions they are not very well built. Could be bad.

I'm having the same issues with my 09' Murano. It goes into gears (drive and reverse) revs up...but dont move. Have you found what the issue is? Is it transmission ? I hope not!. Although it did have a cracked head so someone did put this product(pic shown). Ever since this went in... it now has this new problem. Any ideas?

crystal, like I told the person asking the question, check your tranny fluid. When a car starts and you put it into gear but doesnt move, it's a 90% chance that something is wrong with the transmission. That's why I'm saying to check the transmission fluid because hopefully it's something as small as that. Most Nissans have CVT transmissions which arent the best.
