can I add power steering fluid myself? Cost for this at garage was $70.00. Can I buy the fluid at auto parts store and just add?

I was not told there was a leak, just that I needed it because the level was low. I also needed transmission fluid flush which I did have them do for $99.00. I hope I wasn't ripped off.
