I have a 2008 mercury mountaineer. Initially I had problems with my car failing to heat when idle. Now it blows cold more than heat. And on top of that my rpm's are high at lower speeds

Try cleaning the fins on the radiator if A.C condenser coil sets in front on radiator clean with a garden hose and nozzle may be clogged with with dirt and bugs restricting air flow if that does not help replace t- stat and flush cooling system.
