Question type: Maintenance & Repair
It started when first replacing the PCM but was idling high and them the gauges started bouncing. Now it will not start and the codes are C 61.6, 5 81.4 and then = 42.3. Does anyone know what is wrong?

Those codes I am not one I am used to reading with my scanner. Most engine codes start with a "P". Most body controller codes start with a "B" and chassis codes start with a "C" I am wondering if with the installation of your new PCM, did you have the unit flashed. If so after that is done. The key then needs to be programmed. If you have had all then done. Then was this the reason you replaced the PCM ?
The PCM was programmed by the VIN and is plug n play. The codes were from the dash after hold the speedometer reset and turning the key to AUX. Do we need to do something with the key?
Why did the key work when we first started the truck after replacing the PCM? The key has had issues in the past. Everything comes on when the key is in (i.e. AC), so just puzzling.
Turn the key on to the run position with out cranking to start. Is the security light flashing ?
I still think that key must be programmed to the sim reader. I use an Autel scanner. You will need to call the dealer ship parts department to get the code to enter into the scanner for the scanner to code the sim to your key. I am almost sure that this needs to be done. As far as it starting a couple of times. That is normal for what you have going on. Now the security system is in lock out and needs to have the key codes to the car
