09 camry wont accelerate in heavy rain
Asked by BowensCamry Oct 16, 2016 at 07:40 AM about the 2009 Toyota Camry LE
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I jammed my tailpipe on a very high curb, since it
was repaired the car has trouble accelerating over
30mph in heavy rain. It drives perfectly fine but as
soon as the ground is wet it starts making a very
loud noise, rides rough and will not accelerate over
30-30mph. Service can't recreate the issue so
they keep trying to convince me that everything is
fine. Please help

Any warning lights ON or Flashing? What Engine is in this vehicle?

No warning lights and the loud noise sounds like it would if muffler was not attached but more way more muffled. I don't vendors know if that makes sense....lol.

There's no squealing noises and it is definitely come for the rear or undercarriage of the vehicle.
Sounds like a thorough inspection of the undercarriage of this vehicle is needed. When is the next oil change due? You may have a restricted Catalytic Converter.
Bowens...any updates on the cause and repair of this vehicle?
