I just bought a BMW 750li sedan and I'd
discovered that I'm only getting about 6
miles to the gallon.....

Start with a fuel additive, check your MAFS, O2 sensors, intake system, air filter, and do a full tune-up. If there's any performance parts, make sure they're installed correctly without bypassing anything.
