how can i increase the milage on my duramax

I have 2008 2500HD Diesel, Love the truck, drive a lot of miles daily. What can I do to increase my overall milage. I average @ 16 mile per gallon every day driving. It does graet until the emmision starts burning off; the milage drops a ton. I running around $170.00 per week in fuel. I don't want to sell truck, but with fuel cost increasing I may be force to.

You can get a programmer, or get the comp "tuned" one of the trucks in our fleet (owner/operator) has done this and when he is in "econo" mood, he get 21MPG (this is a 4door 4x4 3500). and he has added a cold aid kit and a few other things. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/index.php? <---- this is a Duramax online forum, hope it helps.
