Heater blower

Asked by Guru5DJC8 Dec 23, 2017 at 12:49 PM about the 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 SL Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The heater blower only works occasionally
but mostly does not blow. The heat is hot
but doesn't come out like it should. The
coolant level is good. What else can I
check?

Check you have proper voltage to blower motor, if not check resistor pack or control. If all checks out then you may just have a bad blower motor.

when the engine is running do you hear a sound from under the dash when you change from defroster to legs, or and other flow direction? If not than you may have a kinked vacuum line (vacuum is used to open/close diverter doors)
