Is it possible to replace the stereo and Navi?

Does anyone have any experience with replacing the stereo and navigation unit on a 2008 turbo? I'd like to be able to put it back to stock in a few years. Don't want to ruin the dash getting the original out and the new one installed.

You shouldn't have any problem installing any aftermarket single or double (preferred) din stereo systems using a custom dash kit available in all popular posrche interior trims and colours. Just search "porsche 997 dash" in ebay and you will find more than a handful of sellers offering these. The stock system will have to be completely removed as none of it will be compatible with the aftermarket system (which will sound way better anyway). And yes, it can later be reinstalled and no one will even be able to tell the difference as there is no cutting of the stock parts required.
No joy Vince. I checked and there was only one and it was a replacement for the OEM. I am looking for a newer navi and stereo. Thanks for posting. Perhaps someone knows of a competent installer in NY or PA?
How about attaching your iPod for music and Sat Nav ?? Then, best of both worlds. Stock! And, iPod ready.
