Key or remote will not open any doors on my Honda Accord 07 and the driver's door will not unlock at all once in the car.

Asked by CindyHen Jan 13, 2015 at 07:11 AM about the 2007 Honda Accord EX-L

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Snow had fallen in my car when I went to
open the door and it landed on my arm rest
which has the control panels for the doors
and windows.

Ironically, the auto windows work fine and
my daughter can unlock all three doors
from the inside, except the drivers door.
She crawls in from a small opening from
the truck, opens the passenger door, so I
can shimmy my way into the driver's seat.  I
tried pulling the knob up to unlock it and it
will not budge.

My best bet is that snow melted and
screwed up something.  I am bringing it into
the shop today.  But, in the meantime, what
could the snow have damaged (or could it
be something all together)?

My auto start works and the car drove fine
yesterday.  The only things that don't work
are the doors.

It was 34 degrees out yesterday.

You stated "my daughter can unlock all three doors from the inside, except the drivers door." Do you mean she can open them by manually activating the lock button, or by the individual electric lock buttons? This helps determine what your problem may be. It sounds like a mechanical problem, which would just be coincidence, or could be electrical in nature such as a blown fuse or something else, due to the melting snow, although I am doubting that as the switches are built pretty well against water etc. from getting into them. Please let me know.
