http://www.edmunds.com/pontiac/vibe/2009/ -- this will show you the differences between the models. At first glance the gt has more horse power than the other models.

In addition to the new styling, the '09 Vibe (available in base, AWD and GT trims) brings a new engine for all but the base trim. Replacing the high-revving but ill-suited 1.8-liter engine in previous GTs is a torquey 2.4-liter four-cylinder.

If you're looking at used first gen vibes, the GT comes with 1.8 liter, same as the base vibe. Difference is, the GT has 180 horsepower compared to bases 130. The GT also has VVTiL instead of just VVTi. VVTiL engine is "Variable Valve Timing with LIFT Intelligence". "Lift" is similar to Honda's VTEC, increased performance at higher RPM. Power iis all relative these days. 180hp isn't much but for the 2800lbs the first gen vibes way, its enough to get going at slower speeds. Some may think a 500hp Mustang is fast but that same mustang is nothing compared to a Veyron or some other super elite exotic. There's always something more powerful so who cares lmao.
