It needs to be diagnosed when the problem occurs , could be many things , don't put too much money into that car . Look for obvious wiring problems/grounds

That sounds like the engine lawsuit recall. It's for safety because some of these engines catch on fire or just shut down due to hybrid failure. Check your VIN for Recall 198 & Service Campaign 966.
