Need advice/help/opinion
Hey y'all need some help. TIA for any suggestions.
2009 Dodge Journey 100,000 miles recently giving
me trouble. A little background, this is the fist new
car I've owned. I've had a lot of problems w it. All
recalls have been performed and regular
maintenance as well. I am the original owner.
Came with a "lifetime" powertrain warranty.
Approximately 3 months ago after running errands
came out to start it and it had a long spin over but
started. Extremely rough idle. Overwhelming smell
of gas. ETC (red lightening bolt) light and check
engine light along with traction control light all on.
My ex husband who is ASE master certified has
performed all major repairs since purchased. The
first time around he cleared the faults and I drove it
another month before having to replace the gas
pedal sensor. All was good for approx 3 weeks.
Same symptoms returned. Thought it could be the
throttle body. He said car was only putting out 3
volts. Could be the PCM which is part of my
powertrain warranty along with a previously
repaired recall. So...10 days with no car and 3rd
tow on my little Black Betty this time to the
dealership to hopefully be told it's covered.. (but I
have horrible luck) I get a call stating it is not the
PCM. Recalled/repaired part was not faulty (and
wouldn't be covered by recall) That something was
sucked into my intake. He was asking about my
warranty. I have returned his call but haven't heard
back yet. There have been numerous complaints
on that year model and even a class action lawsuit
due to failure to comply/notify buyers about the
specifics of the warranty. He's a nice guy. They've
done work on my car numerous times. I am
curious if anyone else has dealt with this problem
and could shed some light on "something being
sucked into the intake" and it causing these
symptoms. Thanks and I appreciate any advice.
