How long will my 2009 Dodge Journey last me? How many maximum miles will it get?

This is my opinion on Dodge. Drive it for as long as you like it and then trade it for a newer model. In my past I've seen too many of them die young. Enjoy it for the first 100,000 then it will begin to deteriorate. If it hasn't already started falling apart already.

The Journey is a piece of junk! All their cars are junk! Sell all of your shares of Fiat/Chrysler now, before they tank! Will never buy another North American car again!

I bought mine at 109xxx nothing but problems so far was lied to from dealer that sold it to me just my luck so far new Ecu heater hose my sunroof leaks I have a puddle that formed under driver side carpet now I have a grinding issuse brakes caliber hub not sure yet but I've put money into this dumb small truck grrr should have kept my old truck

My is a 2009 journey. I bought it back in December and i havent had no problem with its 132000 miles no issues at all i love mine.

We bought our 2014 journey brand new. 161,000 on it now and still going great. We just bought a new caravan GT and the journey is my work commute car, and whatever other transport I need it for. Excellent to us. I just had the catalytic converter replaced but it went bad most likely due to my negligence. The spark plugs on the 2.4 engine are copper core and need to be replaced every 30,000 miles. I waited til 110,000. It was bad. The inadequately burnt fuel toasted the cat. But otherwise it has been solid. Switch to full synthetic oil and take care of it. Car wash it often if you have salted roads during winter.

I have the the 2009 just hit 200000 only thing replaced is breaks and tires, also had to get a new timing belt a couple weeks ago but that’s just normal wear and tear

i have a 2012 Journey 4 cylinder with 233,809 miles runs looks like new i change oil every 3000 miles, any hose , belts, brakes as needed best truck i ever own i say put a Dodge in your Garage

I have a 2018 dodge journey crossroad 6 cylinder and it has 32,000 miles and I love it as it has 3 row seats and all the features I could ask for. I would like to mention that I pull a 3,500 trailer once a week and it does great and never has any problems.

I have a 2009 dodge journey, absolutely hate it. It is at 195,000 miles and it is in the shop every other month, if not every month. Just had to change the break pads for the 2nd time this year, new rotors, break caliper. The heating in the vehicle went wack and the lines were all clogged up for a good two years, and just cleaned them out. It is a smooth ride, but you put more money into the vehicle then you spent on buying it.

I bought a Dodge journey 2009 with 150,000 miles on it I need your opinions on it how is the car overall and how was your experience with it

Mine has 365,000 miles on it. I’ve only replace brakes and rotor and tires. The only major thing was the thermostat but that was it. I do my oil changes every 3,000 miles and I drive it daily. I’ve had it brand new straight off the assembly line with only 4 miles on it

I have a 2014 SE and use it for Uber. I bought it at 44k and it now has 185K. I have replaced tires, brakes, rotors, front wheel hub bearings, cooling fan relay, the upper radiator hose, the heater hoses due to the cheap plastic hose tees wearing over time and being too close to the exhaust, and the regular maintenance stuff. The only real danger is if you notice a coolant leak, take care of it right away or it can result in catastrophic engine failure. Luckilly, when my upper radiator hose went, it was because of the plastic piece that the radiator cap mounts to broke off at the hose connection and I was able to pull over immediately and shut the engine off. The same thing can happen with the platic tees for the heater hoses and should be upgraded to metal hose tees. Since ubering is not normal wear and tear, I'll have to say that this vehicle has held up surprisingly well despite the cheap plastic used for the coolant hose connections.

My cousin's 2010 Journey (with the 2.4 L engine) has 215,000 miles and is running fine. No major problems whatsoever. I have a 2012 with the V-6 and it has 109,000 miles, and runs just like the day it was new. It doesn't owe me anything after almost 9 years of ownership. Davey
