When the 2009 Mitsubishi Galant is idling at night, can all exterior and interior lights be turned off manually?
If an officer spots a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant parked in a dark or dimly lit area at night
without any exterior or interior lights on and with a person sitting in the driver's seat,
which of the following scenarios is possible (assume all exterior and interior lights
function normally -- i.e. have not been disabled under the hood):
1. the motor is running; or
2. the radio is playing; or
3. the ignition switch has been turned to the left -- one or two (?) clicks; or
4. the ignition switch has been turned to the right -- one or two (?) clikcs.
Assume that the car probably has the ES trim.
The dispositive issue is whether the 2009 Mitsubishi Galant can be parked with the
motor running (idling) in a dark or dimly lit area at night without any exterior or interior
lights being lit by any means short of disabling the lights.
Conversely, does the fact that the officer observes the 2009 Mitsubishi Galant parked in
a dark or dimly lit area at night without any exterior or interior lights being lit mean that
the motor is not running.
Thanks
