What is causing my fuel pump mini fuse to blow randomly(alot),have changed the fuel filter but the problem persists,subaru impreza 2000 sti..any help would be apreciated

Hey thanks,According to my local mechanic he seems to think it was the fuel filter abit blocked causing the fuel pump to over work itself causing the fuse to blow,have changed the filter,asked about a wiring problem but doesnt seem to think its that and thinks maybe fuel pump could be on its way,im trying to eliminate different things and find out what can cause this problem as i dont want to be paying for things i dont need to(local mechanics can be dodgy) but ill look into the wiring and see how it goes
