Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently had a small drip of coolant and had to always refill, I drained the system out and put new coolant and a new cap but now the coolant just sits in the coolant tank. Please help

If your radiator has a small leak, when the engine cools a vacuum cannot form to pull coolant out of the reservoir.

What would you recommend to fix the issue? Im not 100% sure that there is a leak, my mechanic thinks it was the cap not sealing properly I had replaced the coolant tank in june of last year

It won't hurt to replace the cap, just make sure you get the correct type. Your mechanic could pressure test the cooling system but if there is a leak it must be found and repaired for things to work properly.
