after installing a transmission is there any code that need to be reset?, because the will not even turn over

Asked by marcboski Dec 03, 2014 at 09:31 PM about the 2009 Pontiac G6 GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I took my car to a repair shop to have the transmission replaced because my care started
to act up. they determined that the trans. needed to be replaced. They found a trans. and they installed it but when they tried to start it up to test drive the car a simble came up with the engine with a line through it. I'm looking for answers so any little bit of info would be greatly appreciated

The shop should have done all that and handed you back a car with no driving issues. The symbol is the "check engine" light, telling you there is a trouble code. Ask them what the code is, or go to an auto store that does free code scans (Autozone, Advance, O'Rielly/Pepboys, etc.) I'm curious what "acting up" the car was doing that necessitated replacing the transmission?
