09 impala upgrades

Asked by GuruDL5PB Aug 26, 2017 at 02:39 AM about the 2009 Chevrolet Impala 1LT FWD

Question type: Car Customization

I have an 09 impala it's of course a fwd v6 but I'd
like to build a not so secret sleeper out of it when
the trans goes out I know I will have to cut out the
motor and trans mounts then fab up new mounts
as well as a new shift linkage and possible new
axle mounts but would a 350 fit in it with out
braking the distributor cap off where it will be so
close to the firewall...i plan on a z28 donor

Better answer, Buy my car :-) It already has a all aluminum 326 Cubic Inch engine that produces 303 bhp. Dual stainless steel exhaust lets it breath legally and runs on only 4 cylinders when just driving down the road. Then you black out or remove the "SS" tags. Looks just like any other Impala. Everything is a tight fit and there is no way to make it rear wheel drive unless you plan on cutting the fake transmission tunnel out and adding a custom built tunnel. As tennisshoes said, this will end up costing you a bundle.
