How do I reset the clock on a 2009 Chevy Suburban---my husband replaced the starter today and now the clock only shows a colon. Very strange. Nothing comes up when I hit the "set clock" button

Thank you. I have the owner's manual and it doesn't state anything regarding this problem. Thanks though :)

I think you have to keep the radio on while trying to set the clock.

Somehow, yesterday everything returned to normal. I drove it around for about 10-15 mins and voila! All back in working order...didn't even have to reset to current time as it was already set!

I had the same problem after I had my 2009 Tahoe in my dealership for body work. When I got the vehicle back, the clock icon on the radio screen was gone and replaced by a colon :. The dealership service department "had never seen that before". I could access the Clock Set screen, but I couldn't reset it. Here's how I fixed it. You need to do a hard reset of your clock. On the touchscreen, select the MENU button, when the screen changes, touch the lower left corner and hold until the PIN screen appears (see this video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Btlu6CBeJQs Now enter the PIN code 295660, touch NEXT PAGE, then SET TIME. That's it! Thanks to all the other posts that got me to this point, especially the video.

This worked for me. Take note: I had to be on the "Display" menu screen.

Thanks, jim065. I had my battery replaced on my 2009 Suburban & when I got the car back, all I had on the clock was a colon. Brought it back & no one could figure out how to get the time on the clock. I followed your instructions & it worked! Thank you so much for posting the instructions!

JimO65 and Frans: after calling dealer and looking all over the internet and YouTube, I hit the jackpot when I found your answers!!! The “colon only” display on the clock was driving me crazy.....the PIN worked perfectly, but I also had to hard reset using display, like Frans. Thank you!!

My clock has quit working. I think it is since I had a new batter installed in my 09 Tahoe. How do I correct this to get my clock back?

I have tried what Jim065 has said to do. However, the pin screen never comes up. Could it be since my radio is a Bose that it works differently?

It worked fine on my 07 with Bose. Just went to display and held the lower left corner down for about 10 seconds.

FYI - if you're having trouble accessing the pin section, make sure your vehicle is in park! I tried to do this while I was driving with no luck and then I realized it was probably a safety feature.

I did set the time, hit the "set"button, nothing happened. Does anyone know why the clock won't set?

GuruL89HH press SET then Back. It saves it and you just click the back button. Keep in mind that the time is in GMT, so if you are in Central Time zone, for example, your time will be 5 or 6 hrs off (depending on the time of year)

Thanks for posting, I was able to reset the clock! However, the “DISC” button is still blank, is there a fix for that? Reading from left to right I have AM, FM, XM, AUX, DISC, Clock, all are lit except the DISC.

WOW! My husband replaced my car battery in my 2011 Chevy Tahoe, we had no idea had to fix this! It’s been 2 weeks without a clock in my truck and it drives me crazy! Thank you so much for this posting! The instructions and code worked awesome!!!

Has anyone figured out how to change from GMT? I live in CT and hate doing the math (yeah, yeah, I'm lazy).

Thank you JimO65 and Frans. Both those helped me to set the clock in my moms 2009 Chevy Suburban.
