Can I use the transmission from a 97 Towncar in a 2009 Towncar?

Asked by jd321 Dec 01, 2018 at 11:26 PM about the 2009 Lincoln Town Car Signature Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2009 Towncar that recently the tranny crapped out at 275,000 miles.
Can I use the transmission I saved from a 1997 Towncar my wife rolled few
years ago?

How about 1 from a 2007? Rock auto shows different part numbers even for 2 years apart.

This is why I always recommend using the exact correct part. You are taking your chances with everything else.

No and no. The newer transmissions are computer controlled.
