Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner Life Expectancy?

Asked by MarinerMercury May 24, 2020 at 04:07 AM about the 2009 Mercury Mariner Premier V6

Question type: General

I understand keeping up maintenance w/ any
vehicle you can expect it to last. But what's the
general life expectancy of the Ford Escape/Mercury
Mariner series? I have 162K miles on my 09
Mariner. Any repair or maintenance I usually get
done right away. Can I expect it to last 200K miles?
That's the goal.

If you have the V6 the engine can last that long or longer. They start leaking oil around 100K, but as long as you dd when needed, and or replace the gaskets, your good. I would say yes, as long as you fix and replace things that need attention. Have you changed the coolant, transmission, rear differential and transfer case fluid yet? If not, do so. One issue I see with these vehicles is how fast they rust if you live in an area that gets snow. The body's don't hold up as well as the drivetrain.
