rear hatch will not open from the out side and manual does not do it

Did you ever get this fixed? I have the same problem wit the Borrego. Would love to get it fixed!

1. You can open from the inside by removing a small plastic cover on the door. Tough to crawl around for this grandpa, but that opens the liftgate. 2. Check for trash in the latch on the trunk floor. I had the backglass broken and pieces fall into the liftgate and then work their way down and end up on the floor by the latch. 3. Its electric, stop pulling on the latch handle because it can loosen. Had to get a bodyshop to glue mine back on because the catches break.

I purchased a new full motor assembly and plugged it in, has the same problem you can hear power going to the motor but it will not open the tailgate. I think it’s a wiring problem or the switch button on the tail gate
