Have a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 2.7 that was having starter problems. I
would get dash lights and radio etc. but no mechanical sound when starting. I
replaced the starter and the transmission switch, was okay for a couple weeks
but the problem has returned? Battery's about 4 years old but I don't see any
dimming or any other obvious battery issues?

Check battery voltage to make sure it's ok. Should be minimum 12.4vdc. Check all battery cables for corrosion and make sure they're tight. If everything looks good, there's a small wire on the starter that has a connector, make sure it's not burnt. If it's ok and not starting. Check to see if you get voltage when you try to start it If voltage is present, replace starter. If no voltage present when you try to start it, trace back to starter relay and ignition switch
Hi I have a Hyundai Santa Fe 2008 and over the weekend I started it and I noticed the shifter was really hard to pull down didn't think anything of it we have 30 below weather right now in Maine so I pulled it down and went off the first stop when I shut the car off I came back out and it would not start put a brand new battery in it for a new battery Clips on the battery it wasn't the battery cuz I was getting lights on inside even with the old battery so I had it towed to a garage thinking it was a starter since I didn't hear no noise when I turn the key over come to find out the garage said it's not that either it was a shifter cable stretched out or broke he's not sure yet has to go in and look at it today but he said when I played with your shifter for a second I paid cash for it
