2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 main window switch

I need to replace my main window control switch
on the driver side door. I was told by the Chevy
dealership that  the switch needs to be
programmed. Something doesn't sound right to be
I have never heard of a window switch needed to
be programmed? Is this true.

Oldstorqnpower it's the basic knob to adjust the mirrors. 4 window lever to open and to close the windows window lock and the door lock
