Cracked valve cover at pcv location

Asked by Timlinc15 Dec 15, 2015 at 01:48 PM about the 2009 Chrysler Sebring LX Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Changed the pcv valve and over tightened it upon install and cracked the
plastic housing. Starts and runs fine so far. Can I get away with this for a
while? Your thoughts?

I suspect you will have a vacuum leak and an oil leak as well. If you need to save money try cleaning the crack really well and seal it with some silicone gasket compound.

If it was my car i would just check the cracked area for oil leakage. It may lose some oil vapors in the cracked area causing a oily residue. Start with checking it once a day and then followup accordingly till you purchase a new part.

Use some high temp silicone to seal the area...

Just did the same thing to my 2001 Sebring. It's hissing air out of it. I sealed it with high heat epoxy. I knew I wouldn't be the only person to have this issue, stupid plastic!
