Loss to power to ingnition switch

This morning I went out to start the car and I just opened the door leaned in and
tried to start it. When I turned the key the instrument lights all came on. When I
turned it to start it I heard a snap and everything went dead. Total loss of power
from the battery. Anybody else have this happen before?

Solved, looks like it was just bad battery cable connections. Never had that happen before.
