The car was totaled by an insurance agency. It had such serious damage in an accident that it was deemed not financially worthwhile to repair. Most people will never buy a car with a salvage title.

depending on what year the car is, a salvage title doesn't ALWAYS mean the car was damaged that bad. For example my 98 avenger as a value of around 1,500. if i did $1,200 in damage to it, they would total the car most likely. Which it's really not that hard to get $1,200 in damages, and it could all be stuff that wouldn't hurt the car if it was fixed.
