the code tells you where the problem is not what to replace , that has to be interpreted , something else may be causing the code , what it could be I have no idea , maybe time to take it to a shop , an injector could be stuck open who knows
My vehicle has been doing that for the past year. It’ll shut off by itself while driving, rev up and shoot forward while foots on brake. I’ve called Chrysler and there is nothing they’re willing to do! No codes pop up and no lights are on. Any luck yet?
I am having th same issue with my 2011 Dodge Avenger. I have take my car to Firestone, Christian Brother’s and Chrysler and no one knows what it truly is. Literally sitting here at a gas station 10:30 pm because it just happened again. Please if anyone knows what this is, please let me know.
Have a 2010 Dodge Avenger and the other day I turned it on it stalled off after like 15 second. I started it up again and took off but my plan was to go around the block to see if it was acting up. Once I turned the corner it shut off. I started it back up and continued to go. After the second turn I took it shut off again but my gauges left off where they where at when the car was completely off. Said I was going 15 mph and the rpm meter bar was in between 1 and 2 mark. Mind you this son of a B shut off in the middle of the road so I’m sitting there freaking out. My next idea was to put it in neutral n push it to the side of the road. NOPE it was locked in park for some reason. Anyone know what this could be??? I’m at 89,950 miles. Tune up possibly? Alt? Wiring problem??
Change crankshaft position sensor. That will solve the problem. Keep in mind! You may have to replace it again six months to a year Poor design feature manufacturer.

I changed the crankshaft Ignition sensor on my 2008 avenger. Engine light still on didn`t change a thing. Still losing power. According to Autozone`s code reader the sensor was top of the list. Next was something about cylinder 1 misfiring and a littany of other things. Have had it for about 3 years, never had a problem now at about 160K. My next thing is to replace the spark plugs and see. Will let you know how that pans out.
Dodge knows what they done . It's time they tell and fix or nobody buy another,! 2011 avenger owner pist off.

I have a 2013 Dodge Avenger. It randomly cuts off while I'm driving. Sometimes it starts right back up like nothing happened. Other times it takes like 5 minutes. I have changed the cranskshaft position censor twice. The check engine light is never on except when it happens. Sometimes there is a lighting strike between 2 parenthesis. I just want it fixed. Ive had 5 mechanics look at this car and nothing. I'm so over it. I can't afford a new one and no one knows what to do to fix it.
Did you ever fix it please help my car does the same thing
If it helps I’ve replaced everything suggested over three years since my started doing that and absolutely nothing has changed. Dodge knows it’s a faulty but not enough complaints to do a recall, apparently our safety isn’t an issue! Good luck

I have a 2011 Dodge Avenger, 120,000 miles, and am having the exact same problems. Recently had a faulty catalytic converter replaced thinking that was the problem, but it did nothing to help my car run as it should.

Hi everyone. I have a 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT, 2.7L V-6 with 99500 miles. Car was randomly shutting off while driving, typically after it had warmed up, been shut off for a short period, then restarted again. No check engine light, no codes. We cleaned mass air flow sensor, replaced the throttle body, replaced the plugs, replaced the fuel pump, replaced the crank shaft positioning sensor, replaced the cam sensor, replaced the relays for the fuel pump and auto shut-off and disconnected the battery. Car was running well when this was not happening, not rough. Could go a week at a time between occurrences. Wanna know what finally worked? As a last resort, my husband ordered a remanufactured ECM with the same part number as the original. It was programmed to my VIN. Cost was $233 on Ebay. Received it in two days. Disconnected the battery, and the swap was relatively simple. My car is now running like a charm. Hope this helps someone. I know full well how incredibly unnerving and frustrating this can be. Good luck.
alexander have you figured out what the issue is? that is EXACTLY what is wrong with mine and several mechanics have no idea what the issue could be. if you've found a solution, please share
answer: it’s the tipm module. replaced it, worked well for months, then it malfunctioned again, this time with the windshield wipers going berserk. i replaced it again and as of now it’s working wonderfully. however don’t go to the dealership as they wanted to charge me $1500. buy a remanufactured one online and replace it yourself. it’s surprisingly easy
