I need help with figuring out what's wrong with my sister's car

Question type: General

What does it mean when i stop at a stop sign or red light
and i have to put the car in neutral or park then put it back
in drive for it to take off after i stop? If i don't do that then
when if try to push the gas pedal to take off the car won't
move it doesn't have any power unless i put it in park or
neutral every time i stop at a red light or so sign? Please
help me... My sister just bought this car from someone
and it's been doing it since she bought the car yesterday

What do the plugs look like ? Try an injector cleaner , look for loose/broken vacuum lines
