Are you aware of oil pump problem with Altima coupe 4 cylinder engine?

Asked by Clovis May 10, 2010 at 08:14 PM about the 2009 Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a brand new Altima Coupe 2.5 (4 cylinder engine) last June.  The engine is very noisy especially when it is cold.  The dealer told me that it is normal.  The sound comes from the oil pump.  I didn't have this problem the first 5 000 KM.  Is there anyone experiencing the same problem? Thank you in advance for your response.

Yes, my 2010 seems to have a bit of noise coming from the engine in the 1st 30 seconds after starting the car. This started at about 10k miles or less. About to take it in this week and see what they say.

What did they say when you took it in. I'm looking at a 2.5 for my daughter and certainly don't want an engine that is going to have issues.
